Using light energy, this advancement in technology provides a tighter, more youthful look and feel to the skin all over your body by stimulating collagen growth far beneath the top layer of skin. The Titan 3D IPL therapy is non-invasive in that it doesn’t require any surgery or injections, meaning there’s no recovery time.
Titan utilizes a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. This heating can cause immediate collagen contraction resulting in tighter skin. During the procedure, the skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening with the improvement of lax skin, folds, and lines.
Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radiofrequency).
Patients have been successfully treated in many areas of the body where the skin is lax. Loose skin along the jawline, under the chin, the abdomen, and the upper arm have responded particularly well to the procedure.
Since the Titan procedure is heating tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type can be treated. Men and women of all ages and skin types are potential candidates. Your physician can advise you if the Titan is right for you.
A single treatment has produced very good results for some patients. Your physician will advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.
Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients, the results are gradual over a three to six-month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand. Many patients are comfortable without anything. Your physician will advise you.
The Titan has been carefully studied in clinics around the world. It is cleared for the treatment of wrinkles in Europe and for general dermatologic use in Canada. In the US, it is cleared for topical heating to increase local tissue temperatures and circulation. An additional 510(k) clearance is pending in the US for the treatment of wrinkles.
